– Cellulose Gum is a thickening agent, most likely used to help create the patch structure themselves. In addition to being a thickening agent, cellulose gum is used to retain moisture, increase stability and provide volume and texture
– Styrene Isoprene Styrene Block Copolymer is a polymer with a rubber-like consistency that makes up the main structure of these patches
– Polyisobutylene is a synthetic rubber used in many industries. For example, food-grade polyisobutylene is used as the base for many chewing gum formulas
– Petroleum Resin is a hydrocarbon compound also used in many industry settings due to its ability to provide a tackiness to a material. So for these patches, the resin is what allows them to essentially become stickers
– Polyurethane Film is technically not used in the formulation of this product, but rather is a protective film (made from a polymer) kept around the patches to keep them from absorbing any air
– Liquid Paraffin is also known as mineral oil (remember this ingredient is highly refined and thus safe for use in cosmetics). For these patches, the liquid paraffin acts by retaining moisture in the area by providing a protective layer.
