Do Acne Treatments Irritate Rosacea?

The general consensus is that acne treatments exacerbate rosacea, particularly Benzoyl peroxide, alcohol based treatments, witch hazel, Salicylic acid, and other acne treatments. When a physician takes a history and asks what you have been using to treat your acne and discovers that you have been using acne treatments and your skin is worse and no doubt red and irritated the physician may diagnose you with rosacea. This is one of the differentiating factors in a diagnosis of rosacea. Click here for more info on diagnosing rosacea. Rosacea is usually treated with other (non acne) treatments.
