Wonder where all the passionate rosaceans are these days? The Yahoo rosacea groups, including David Pascoe's 7000 plus Rosacea Support Yahoo group has little activity if any. Even his current R-S BB Group with 4000 plus members has very little activity. The Rosacea Forum vBulletin board only had about nine posts yesterday.
Obviously there must be some activity somewhere? Probably Facebook and Twitter. Any thoughts?

Rosacea Linked to Slightly Increased Risk for Alzheimer's Disease
By Jody Smith, EmpowHER, June 3, 2016Daily Mail • Health24 • Fox News •
"Recently, an increased interest has been shown in the potential associations between neurodegenerative diseases and rosacea. For example, a nationwide cohort study from Denmark explored the relationship between rosacea and neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. MMPs are believed to be associated with the neurodegenerative diseases and an increased expression of MMP-1 and MMP-9 has also been observed in rosacea. In addition, another Danish study found that rosacea was significantly associated with dementia, especially Alzheimer disease. AMPs, MMP, and inflammatory cascades, which have a shared impact on both rosacea and Alzheimer disease, are considered to be involved in the underlying mechanism. Together, these findings suggest that a pathogenic link might therefore exist between rosacea and neurodegenerative diseases."

The RRDi is please to announce that Alexander Egeberg, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the RRDi MAC and is volunteering to answer questions in our forum.
Dr. Egeberg has been in the news recently with his team looking at 1997-2012 data from the Danish national health registry system. The nation's entire population -- roughly 5.6 million men and women -- were included. About 82,000 had rosacea. The results are a series of medical papers linking rosacea with Glioma, autoimmune diseases, dementia, Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's disease. For example, Nature, Dermatology Times, MedLinePlus, HealthDay have articles quoting Dr. Egeberg.
