Glandular rosacea has been proposed as a phenotype of rosacea by Crawford et al., in a paper published in 2004. Whether Glandular Rosacea should be classified as a phenotype, subtype or variant of rosacea remains to be clarified but for now the RRDi lists Glandular Rosacea in the 'other subtypes' and as a variant of rosacea until a decision is made. The RRDi now recognizes Glandular Rosacea as a rosacea variant to end the confusion.
